This new addition to our web site, is a collection of stories from you our members.
All of us are in the service industry, and when dealing with the public. We have had an experience, or an incident happen or have seen.
That we say to our self NO ONE WOULD EVER BELIEVE ME IF I TOLD THEM… . That when we try to tell the story, no one believes it to be true.
So, now’s your chance to share them with the rest of the LIGRA family.
I call this one free baby sitting with an inspection.
This was from a repair shop in Colleges Point that happened just a few weeks ago.
A new customer brings her car in for inspection. She walks in the office, I take her info and ask where the car is. She tells me it’s right outside. I ask her where the keys are. She says they are in the ignition. I tell her OK, have a seat and I’ll pull it in the shop and we’ll get going on it. She says OK let me grab my stuff. She walks out, comes back in with her phone and purse and sits down. Now you may be thinking this is about me being offended because she grabbed her purse. Not at all, I don’t know her, totally normal reaction. I’m sure she also wanted her phone to kill some time while she waited. So, I go outside and get in the car, turn my head to back up and find myself staring at a 2-year-old in a car seat. OOOOOOOKKKAAYYY. So, I get she was concerned about her phone and purse. Kids? They’re a dime a dozen. I chatted with him and told him to hang tight a minute. I go to the office and just open the door because I wanted to keep an eye on him. I said, “You can’t leave him in there, we have to put the car up on the lift.” I was expecting “Oh, he was sleeping.” or some such nonsense. Nothing. She left him in the driveway with the keys in the ignition!
